Wow. What a year! Really kind of wishing that we had started this blog before so we could take a look back... (I know Justin, I know...) This has been a year of change for us. We have spent some time reflecting on what we do - and how we do it. We've been talking a lot about the changes to come and this blog is part of that shift. New logo, new philosophy, new adventures.
We've discovered that we really, truly LOVE weddings - I mean we had TWO of our own this summer.... hehehe. That love for weddings has really translated into a passion for shooting them. This has become our focus. But the main thing is our approach. We have decided to explore the uniqueness of every wedding and illustrate it. Not just with beautiful images, but also with images that really reflect the truth and the magic of the little things.
This for us means getting to know our couples and finding out what makes them tick... I find myself talking about park benches and bus rides and building connections with people. I love my job. We are also opening our lives up to our couples... Welcome to the insanity folks.
Now, no worries - we're still doing portraits. But we are addressing these differently as well. We've learned that our images get better as we get to know our clients so we're asking you all kinds of stuff!
We have had the opportunity to learn from really talented photographers who happen to be pretty amazing people. Thanks Amina & Justin. Thanks to all our photographer friends who continue to inspire us with their awesomeness.
Thanks to the couples who have shared their weddings with us this year and thanks to the families that have let us peek into their lives. It's been a wonderful adventure. We're really looking forward to meeting all kinds of new people this year as well keeping in touch with our friends, old & new. We are also super excited to see some of our couples bring new babies into the world! Ever forward...
Real. Authentic. Meaningful. These are the words that are driving us in 2010.
M.
